ED 308 - Course Development

Week's Summary
This week we designed our course online.  During this phase of the assignment we had to look at every aspect of the course development.  Effective designing and online course requires a lot of attention to detail to ensure that everything that a student may ask is covered.

Items of Interest
This phase of the assignment was to me the most stressful.  I tried to look at this course from a teacher standpoint and from a student’s standpoint.  Viewing the course from both perspectives allowed me to build this course from top to bottom.

Problems or Concerns:

The only concern that I have this week is that may have forgotten something.  I will add a link to a contact me page so that if I did forget anything students could easily reach me.  Do you have any suggestions for items that may be missed in the course?

  1. Hi, Kerry! I will admit, I got a little lost with your blog post this week. Are you asking for advice? If so, what type of suggestions exactly are you looking for? I can certainly see how this week's assignment can be stressful, but to me it was the most fun textbook reading so far. I think you should just use this week's reading, and apply it to your course. Use graphics, a strong syllabus, and strong visuals in your course. These are things that keep students interested. When a student is interested, they typically turn in better assignments. Good luck to you!

  2. Kerry,
I think with this being our first course design, we all feel as though we have forgotten something important. I know when I have had trouble navigating a course, I would message my instructor and they would help me. I think making yourself available for students to contact is a huge way they trust you. The best way to keep students interested is to make it easy to navigate and find important things. Great Job
