ED 308 - Course Development

Week's Summary
This week we designed our course online.  During this phase of the assignment we had to look at every aspect of the course development.  Effective designing and online course requires a lot of attention to detail to ensure that everything that a student may ask is covered.

Items of Interest
This phase of the assignment was to me the most stressful.  I tried to look at this course from a teacher standpoint and from a student’s standpoint.  Viewing the course from both perspectives allowed me to build this course from top to bottom.

Problems or Concerns:

The only concern that I have this week is that may have forgotten something.  I will add a link to a contact me page so that if I did forget anything students could easily reach me.  Do you have any suggestions for items that may be missed in the course?

ED 307 - Teaching Digital Natives

Teaching Digital Natives has been a great resource for partnering in the classroom.  Partnering has opened my eyes on education and how I can impact the future of my students not just in a year of their lives.  Technology is an enabler for helping students learn the content and 21st century skills needed.  Within Teaching Digital Natives you will find 132 "nouns" or tools to use in the classroom.  It is important that teachers now all the tools that are available and how to use them correctly.

After reading Teaching Digital Natives I feel more confident in partnering pedagogy and look forward to implimenting this in my future classroom.

ED 308 - Blog Assignment 4 - Design

Week's Summary
This week we completed the rough draft of our course outline.  In this module, we learned how to create engaging activites to engage students.  We also learned about relevance and what relevance means to a lesson.  Relevance is meaningful material to students.  Relevance includes past, current, and future.

Items of Interest
I loved this part of the assignment.  It was so much fun to actually put together a unit and let my creativity flow.  It was very tedious becuase you have to constantly double check that you are covering everything.

Problems or Concerns:
The only concern that I have this week is that I did not cover everything and may need to go back and add to my outline.
